Macho, thoughtful, and laconic, Clint Eastwood has left a legacy of a man of action with few words.
He grew up in San Francisco, dropped out of college, and found work in a number of B-scale movies before turning a hit on TV in the late 50s on Rawhide. Building on this success he jumped right back to the silver screen, finding successes in such films as The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly and When the Eagle Soars. In the early '70s it was Dirty Harry that made him famous.
Now a star and director, he has branched out into comedies, dramas, and even musicals.
Personal Quote: "I like the libertarian view, which is to leave everyone alone. Even as a kid I was annoyed by people who wanted to tell everyone how to live."
